Deirdre Amaral

Deirdre Amaral, LICSW, CADC-II, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who began her undergraduate degree at University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Worcester State University. She completed her graduate training at Simmons College, where she received her master’s degree in social work. Deirdre is also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselor with extensive experience in the field of addictions. Deirdre’s clinical experience includes working with older children, adolescents and adults in various settings such as community mental health, residential treatment, school-based counseling, partial hospitalization and outpatient treatment settings. Deirdre relies on a strength-based approach, utilizing Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy strategies, that help to increase a sense of hope, healing and support, as well as to improve overall social and emotional well-being.
